The Matchday Report is designed to help you quickly understand the total demands of a game by comparing them with other activities (e.g. historical games). Unlike the Activity Report, which shows average outputs per athlete, the Matchday Report displays totals for all athletes in a chosen activity - making it easier to see game-wide demands at a glance.
Key Points
- Total outputs are shown (sums across athletes), rather than averages so you can compare between games when more or fewer substitutions are made.
- You'll need to be a Focus customer to utilise the Flow of the Game and Peak Demands sections. For more information click here.

Example Use Cases for Flow of the Game and Peak Demands
- Import In/Out of possession data: Compare intervals to see if your team works harder in or out of possession, or when the ball is in dispute. How does this change in longer phases of play?
- Import Ball in Play data: How does ball in play time change over the course of the game? What is the peak output for each position or individual athlete by different ball in play time periods?
- Import fixed intervals of time (e.g. 1 min): How does performance change throughout the match? Were there any periods where the data dropped? What's the peak output for an individual athlete so I can prefer them in rehab?
Flow of the Game
Note: This section only appears if you have annotations within your data (for example, phases of play, possession states, or tactical events). For details on how to import annotations using the Focus Importer click here.
