Captive Portal Networks are networks that require a username and password to enable internet access, as commonly found in public places such as cafés, hotels, airports and university campuses.
To connect your Vector Dock to WiFi through a captive portal, you might have to give IT support/network administrator the MAC address of your Dock so they can add it to an allowlist.
Connecting to a Captive Portal Network During the First Time Registration
- Log into the Catapult Vector app and hit Get Started to initialise the setup workflow.
- Select your preferred WiFi network and hit Connect.
- When you connect to a captive portal, a prompt will appear displaying the MAC address of your Dock.
- Select Share MAC Address at the bottom of the screen. The MAC address will be downloaded and can then be shared with your IT support team. Once it has been added to the allowlist you can proceed to the Next step.
Connecting to a Captive Portal Network Post Registration
- Log into the Catapult Vector app and select the Hardware tab on the left of the screen.
- Go to the Docks section and select the Dock you have registered.
- On the Dock Info page your Dock's MAC Address will be listed with the Share button next to. Click on Share and send it to your IT support team.
- Once it has been added to the allowlist, hit the Wi-Fi option on the Dock Info page.
